DJL SHIPPING B.V. ("we", "us") is responsible for the processing of personal data through this website and in the course of our logistics services. We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Which data we process
We process the data you provide when you request a quote, book a shipment or contact us: name, company, e-mail address, telephone number, pickup and delivery addresses and shipment details. When you use our tracking service we record the tracking number searched and your IP address to protect the service against misuse.
Why we process your data
- to prepare quotations and perform transport and logistics agreements;
- to provide shipment tracking and send status notifications;
- to answer your questions;
- to comply with legal obligations, such as tax and customs requirements;
- to secure our website and services.
Public tracking
Our public tracking page only shows shipment status, route and cargo basics. Names are partially masked and e-mail addresses, telephone numbers and street addresses are never shown publicly.
Sharing
We share data only where needed to carry out your shipment — for example with carriers, customs authorities and customs brokers — or where the law requires it. We do not sell personal data.
Retention
We keep shipment and financial records for as long as required by law (in the Netherlands generally seven years) and other data no longer than necessary for the purpose it was collected for.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, object to processing or ask for data portability. Contact us using the details on our contact page. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
